Prerequisite:Consent of the instructor.

 

Additional Suggested Background: Students are highly encouraged to have taken CMPS/EECE 566. Other courses that will be useful are 508, 520, 521, 561and/or 588.

 

Course Description: This course will be covering various association mining algorithms, including targeted, temporal and distributed mining. In addition, an overview of evaluation techniques will also be presented. Throughout the course, various projects will be assigned, typically implementation of the association mining algorithms and their evaluation. Prospective students should have a good background in a programming language, such as C++, Smalltalk, JAVA, and so forth.
