The present location of the HCI Lab is in Room 431 of the Conference Center
building. Space for usability experiments is located in Rooms 403 and 404. Hardware includes:
- Unix and MS Windows platforms (Gateway and Silicon Graphics
workstations)
- PC to TV converter (AITech Pro PC/TV)
- Video editor/recorder (JVC BR-S822U)
- Digital video camera
Software includes:
- Development environments (MS Visual Studio, Harlequin Common
LISP, Install Shield, etc.)
- Speech environments (NaturallySpeaking, Dragon Dictate,
L&H Voice Express, MS Voice, etc.)
- General support (EudoraPro, Reference Manager, Norton
AntiVirus, MS Office, etc.)
- Custom software (NALIGE, SUITEKeys, WinLogger, etc.)
The lab also has full access to the Computer Science
Department's Windows NT, Silicon Graphics, and Sun Ultrix laboratories, as well as the
university's general access computing resources through the campus network backbone.
