Loc Stewart joined The Center for Advanced Computer Studies in February 2000 as Systems Administrator. Previously, she was employed by the Department of Mathematics at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge for over twelve years, where she managed the departmental computer system. At LSU, Loc Stewart succeeded in transforming the computer system from a local network, driven by a single VAX and some computer terminals, into a heterogeneous environment consisting of diverse groups of different computer platforms. She was responsible for a network system of over 100 Unix workstations, about 30 personal computers, and 400 user accounts.
Ms. Loc Stewart continues to meet the challenges of the volatile computer field by means of attending academic and professional courses and exploring the vast knowledge databases on the web. Her goal is to enhance her skills in an effort to provide better services to CACS. |
