Dr. Efe's current research interests include parallel algorithms and architectures,
computational aspects of VLSI, task scheduling, and high performance computation
on workstation clusters. Recently, several parallel architectures have been
proposed and built. However, it doesn't yet appear to be clear which form of
parallel systems will dominate the future of parallel computing. While
|
massively parallel computers still hold promise, recent work shows a substantial
amount of potential for workstation clusters. Dr. Efe's ongoing research
investigates operating systems and programming environments for workstation
clusters. Automatic task partitioning, scheduling, and load balancing are among
the research problems investigated.
