Game Development Academy for High School Students
June 1st - 5th


Presented by the Computer Science Department of
University of Louisiana at Lafayette

High School students with an interest in computer science and video game design & development are invited to attend a 5-day hands-on workshop to be held in the gaming facilities of the Computer Science Department at UL.
   
  • Attendees will work with UL Computer Science faculty and gaming students to gain experience in the basics of:
    • 2D casual game design & development using Gamemaker
    • Terrain generation and texturing using EarthSculptor
    • 3D modeling, texturing, and animation using Maya, Photoshop, FaceGen, and Bodypaint.
    • Motion capture using the UL CMPS Motion Capture Lab
    • 3D game engines using the OGRE rendering engine.
 
Details:
 
    • Enrollment is limited to the first 19 applicants.
    • Applicants must have completed their first year of high school and should have an interest in computer programming and/or visual arts.
    • Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
