613. ADVANCED TOPICS IN COMPUTER COMMUNICATIONS. (3, O, 3).
 

This course provides a wide coverage and in-depth treatment of major technologies in computer communications and networks, suitable for students with basic knowledge in computer networks and interested in acquiring further comprehension in data communication protocols and standards, network routing and traffic control strategies, and internetworking aspects. The lectures will concentrate on various key topics in computer communications and networks, including network data link technologies, switching mechanisms and implementations, routing algorithms and router structures, overall network flow and congestion control, and internetworking issues. The course has an emphasis on current technologies, standards, and real implementations. Prereq: CMPS 513 or consent of instructor.
