555. PRINCIPLES OF OPERATING SYSTEMS THEORY. (3, O, 3).
 

Parallel processing: communication and synchronization of processes in multiprocessing and distributed environments, proof of correctness. Deterministic scheduling. Introduction to queuing theory. Current research topics. Same as EECE 555. Prereq: CMPS 455(G). The 455 Prerequisite may be satisfied by eligible students passing a waiver check administered by the designated faculty member(s). Success results in a partial waiver and the student then enrolls in CMPS 555 to complete the operating system course requirement.
