Putchong Uthayopas, CACS Ph.D. 1996, will finally achieve his dream of connecting Thailand, his home country, to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where he spent some of his most productive years. Putchong has been instrumental in the founding of Thai National Grid Project (TNGP), which constitutes the infrastructure for the advanced HPC Grid Cyber-infrastructure Nationwide.

"We work hard, but we also play hard," she says. The Acadiana area's numerous festivals, restaurants, and cultural events make it a great place to live while you study. "Looking back, I wouldn't choose to go to any other graduate school," she says. "CACS is like home to me."
